Good Morning

I have never been a morning person. I generally prefer to be doing this until the clock hits the double digits.

Early mornings usually consist of me dragging myself out of bed to the sound of a screeching alarm, stumbling to the coffee pot, and heading to work. The entire time wishing I could get back into my pajamas, curl up, and go back to sleep.

Now with the new pup he prefers to get up EARLY and he did not come with a snooze button. He is ready to take on the day before the sun is even out and he has to be sure I am coming with him. It has been a little rough, but today I actually realized I LOVE mornings! By nine am today I had already enjoyed a cup of coffee and watched the sun rise, went on two walks with Cooper, and a jog with Buckley! What I discovered on my early morning adventure is that there are a lot of people who also LOVE mornings. People out running, biking, walking dogs, gardening, kids on scooters, AND everyone is so friendly in the morning waving and smiling. This friendliness could be because I am walking an adorable puppy, or because everything looks so amazing in the morning sunlight, you just can't help but feel happy.

Puppy Love

Meet Cooper!

Cooper is an adorable little mutt we adopted from Second Chance for Homeless Pets (same place we adopted our beloved Buckster). He is nine weeks old (we think), his Mom is a border collie mix, and he looks as though he has a little of everything. But, most importantly he came home with lots of love to share... and a lot of energy.

He is currently weighing in at a whopping 9 pounds! With Buckley at 79 pounds it looks a little like the Lion and the Mouse. They are slowly figuring each other out, learning how to play, how to share, how to get into trouble, and how to love one another.

Ahhh, and they called it puppy love...

How Does Your Garden Grow?

So, I will be the first to admit our yard is well...let's call it a work in progress. If you are listening to my pleas Jamie Durie, call me! But, the something that has been thriving, looking amazing, and making us feel like maybe we can garden is... our tomatoes!

They had a rough beginning. Planted the end of May prior to a ten day trip back east while we were craving summer and sun. They were then exposed to days and days of endless rain.

Finally when the heat and sun did come they often fell victim to the..."oops, forgot to water the garden" syndrome.

But, they triumphed! And we have been enjoying sweet, juicy, organic, tomatoes! What an amazing feeling to grow something on your own and know what it has been exposed to.

Confession: I don't even like tomatoes and I LOVE these!
